My niece received a doll with crutches and a leg cast for her birthday. I suppose this is supposed to motivate little girls to be nurses or doctors? Help them become more compassionate to those in pain? I think we need Compassionate-geared toys, because I’m not sure if princesses and kitchen sets are doing the job.
Does this mean we’re going to start seeing alcoholic dolls to help little girls become substance abuse counselors when they become older? Will the doll come with a toilet and plastic vomit?
Imagine if toys were geared towards adult life? Doll house accessories would come with regular fridges and wine coolers. Barbie’s purse would come with credit cards (maybe it does by now). Army figures would come along with terrorist dolls.
This all makes the days of my youth seem so simple and dull.
